Product Details

The tongue-through pelham bit has many advantages thanks to its alloy and the shape of its barrel. It provides comfort for horses with sensitive mouths who have difficulty tensing up. The anatomy of the bit offers maximum room for the tongue and its tongue passage allows optimal distribution of pressure on the bars, tongue and corners. The fact that it is straight ensures symmetrical left/right contact from the hand to the mouth and eliminates any risk of pinching the tongue. All these elements will allow the horse to gain confidence in his mouth, to settle down and tense up. As Innosense resin is smooth and soft to the touch, it can even be considered for horses who have difficulty salivating. The rigid resin prevents your horse from leaning too much on its bit while encouraging contact. It is said that the soft resin encourages the horse to tense up. A light contact of the horse on its bit will help to improve the horse's locomotion through the engagement of the hindquarters. The pelham is a fixed lever bit. Through its action on the horse's neck and the chin (mandible) it has a more or less significant lowering effect depending on the size of the branches and its installation (adjustment with two or four reins, wedding rings, curb chain). It is interesting on powerful horses and/or relatively in the blood to channel their energy. The curb chain allows you to vary the intensity of the bit. It is recommended to use curb protectors for sensitive horses.
