The 4 ring snaffle is made up of two rings that can move freely between the two rings connected to the barrel. The two free rings are attached to the uprights, while the barrel rings are attached to the reins. The double break allows the horse's mouth to relax more easily and commands to be transmitted more smoothly. Unlike the single curb bit, which acts on the palate, a sensitive part of the horse's mouth, the double curb bit acts on the tongue without causing pain.
